Home Minister Rajnath Singh launches all-in-one, emergency helpline number 112. Users can dial 112 or use the 112 India app or use panic buttons on their phones to connect to a single number based emergency service linked to police, fire services, health services and other helplines.

The Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) was launched in New Delhi today. Now persons in distress can dial a pan-India number: 112. Under this system, all the states are setting up a dedicated Emergency Response Centre, ERC.
